Grace Episcopal Church was founded in 1868 as a mission of St. John's.  Religious Services were originally held in Monroe Presbyterian Church, now Monroe Methodist Church.

Grace Church was incorporated in 1871 as a Free Church, which meant in part that the property was owned by the parish and not held in trust for the Diocese.

The Church was enlarged in 1903 by adding the sacristy.  In 1911, a vestry room was added which became part of the sacristy.  From 1959 through 1974 the other parts of the parish hall were constructed.
